Membership, bookings and donations
These terms explain our membership, session booking and donation arrangements. All donations go to Dementia Active CIO, registered charity number 1195246.
Please give as much notice as possible of a planned absence or change to attendance so that we can plan sessions and transport. Contact info@dementiactive.co.uk or 01295 408441.
Membership and donations
The membership fee is £1.00 per month. Donations are separate and voluntary. All donations go to Dementia Active CIO, registered charity number 1195246. Members can attend sessions without donating, including sessions arranged through online booking. Reducing or stopping a donation does not by itself remove a member's place; the membership fee remains payable while membership is active.
Regular donations
We recommend GoCardless for regular Direct Debit donations. The suggested amount is based on sessions and the charity's running costs, calculated over 52 weeks and taking account of our Christmas break and bank holidays. We collect the first donation only after a potential member has attended a session. Once authorised, regular donations continue during absences unless the donor changes or stops them.
Ending membership or changing donations
You can cancel your membership or regular place at any time by contacting Dementia Active. You can ask us to change your Direct Debit donation amount while you are a member or after membership ends. Ending membership does not automatically cancel a donation Direct Debit. If you want to stop donating, cancel the donation Direct Debit through your bank; Dementia Active does not cancel it for you. When membership ends, also cancel the £1.00 monthly membership collection through your bank. If membership remains active, the £1.00 monthly fee remains payable.
Online bookings
Online booking is intended for one-off sessions or short blocks after we have offered a place. Please do not book online before a place has been offered. Amounts suggested through online booking are voluntary donations to the CIO, rather than a compulsory session price; attendance is available without donating. Contact us if you need help arranging a place without an online donation.
Refund enquiries
Donations are collected regardless of whether a member attends. If you believe a donation has been collected in error, you can request a refund by contacting info@dementiactive.co.uk or 01295 408441. We will review the collection and your request. This policy does not restrict any rights under the Direct Debit Guarantee.
Gift Aid
Eligible donations to the CIO may qualify for Gift Aid where the donor provides a valid declaration and meets HMRC's conditions. Gift Aid is optional and is not a condition of attendance. The separate membership fee is not included in this statement about donations.
