Fundraising for Dementia Active

TRANSFORMING LIVES

Fundraising for Dementia Active is vital because it helps transform the lives of people living with dementia and those who support them. Every event organised, every challenge completed, and every donation raised directly contributes to providing opportunities that improve wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.

KEEPING PEOPLE ACTIVE

At Dementia Active, the focus is on keeping people active, connected, and engaged through meaningful activities. For many individuals living with dementia, opportunities to participate in sport, exercise, and social activities can make a huge difference. These programmes help maintain physical health, boost confidence, and reduce feelings of isolation that so often accompany a dementia diagnosis. Fundraising makes these activities possible.

REACHING MORE COMMUNITIES

The money raised allows the charity to run specialist sessions, train staff and volunteers, and reach more communities. It also helps develop innovative programmes that are tailored specifically to people living with dementia, ensuring they remain accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable. Without fundraising support, many of these opportunities simply wouldn’t exist.

Just as importantly, fundraising raises awareness. When someone takes on a challenge, hosts an event, or shares their story, they start conversations about dementia. This helps break down stigma and encourages greater understanding within communities. Awareness leads to stronger support networks and ensures that people living with dementia feel valued and included.

For families and carers, the impact is just as significant. Seeing their loved ones engaged, active, and happy provides reassurance and relief. Dementia Active’s programmes often create moments of joy and connection that families treasure, and fundraising helps ensure those moments continue for many others.

CREATING OPPORTUNITIES

Every fundraiser becomes part of something bigger. Whether it’s a sponsored walk, a community event, or a personal challenge, each effort helps Dementia Active reach more people and expand its work. The dedication and generosity of fundraisers are what allow the charity to keep making a real difference.

In essence, fundraising isn’t just about raising money—it’s about creating opportunities, building supportive communities, and ensuring that people living with dementia can continue to live active, fulfilling lives. Through the passion and commitment of those who fundraise, Dementia Active can keep moving forward and changing lives every single day.
