It is with huge regret that we have decided that we must follow government advice on how to manage the outbreak of coronavirus. As the instruction is for people not to attend social groups anymore and in particular for people over the age of 70 years to stay at home for the next 12 weeks, we feel that we cannot go against this by continuing to run our groups. It is deeply upsetting as all the groups have begun to gel together, with people developing friendships, even those only established in the last few months.
Even though we have introduced hand washing on arrival at the groups, the fact of the matter is that we cannot guarantee that internally the halls we use are free of coronavirus.
Our hope is that the outbreak will die down in the Summer and that we can open the groups again. Meanwhile we will keep in touch to let you know what Dementia Active is doing during this enforced break!
For those who have already paid in advance for this week, the payment will roll over till when sessions begin again.
Please look after yourselves and follow the advice being given. We look forward to seeing everyone again as soon as is feasible.
Very best wishes
From everyone at Dementia Active
